Strictly Come Dance fans react after celebrity narrowly misses chance to dance in the quarter final.

Saturday (November 23), the remaining seven couples performed their main routine before a special Samba-thon competition.

Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec advance to the next round thanks to their spectacular American Smoothperformed to “Someone You Loved” by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi.

During the presentation of the results on Sunday evening, it was EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his partner Michelle Tsiakkas, as well as Gladiators athlete Montell Douglas and his partner Johannes Radebe who were elected for the daunting dance event.

Ultimately, the judges voted unanimously to save Douglas and Radebe, meaning that Borthwick and Tsiakkas were excluded from the competition.

In reaction to this decision, fans argued that The only way is Essex star Pete Wicks should have found himself in the dance against Douglas or Borthwick.

“There’s no way Jamie deserved to be at the bottom this week, he was absolutely brilliant,” said one viewer. “Sometimes the British public get it so wrong and this is one of those times.”

“What?! Pete is safe and Montell and Jamie are dancing. Absolute joke!” another fan said.

“I’m going to need Pete’s fans to hang up the phone because WHY is Montell in the dance twice in a row and this man passes???” one fan raged.

A gutted Borthwick fan wrote on X/Twitter: “Jamie! You were my winner! I’m gutted to see you go, but what a fantastic trip you’ve had.

Asked by host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Borthwick said: “Strictly it’s magical. That’s all I can say. Strictly it’s magical. Not just everyone you see on camera, these four here (the judges), but everyone who works on this show.

He said he could “talk all day” about his partner Tsiakkas, adding that she was “the most amazing teacher”.

“She’s a new professional and she’s truly been an amazing teacher,” he said. “We laughed like you wouldn’t believe.” I have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone on the show, so thank you.

Borthwick joined the 2024 competition after winning the festive trophy on Strictlyof the special Christmas 2023 edition, alongside professional dancer Nancy Xu.
