Tonner Drones signs an LAW to add AI to its Countbot solution

Schiltigheim, November 25, 2024, 8:00 a.m., Tonner Drones (“the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has signed a letter of intent with an Indian IT company to further develop and commercialize the Countbot.

Tonner Drones’ Countbot solution enables customers to take a quantum leap in efficiency in warehouse management. The Countbot can analyze inventory very efficiently and quickly, saving many man-hours.

The Indian IT company has expressed interest in Tonner Drones to enhance the solution by adding software including artificial intelligence to Countbot’s current hardware. Thanks to the collaboration with this Indian partner, Tonner Drones will be able to more easily offer its warehouse product to the Asian and Middle Eastern markets. This partner is in contact with customers already potentially interested in ordering Countbots equipped with AI technology. This collaboration is part of Tonner Drones’ new strategy aimed at finding external partners to develop its products and services, but also to market them, in order to achieve strict control of its costs.

When Tonner Drones last published its results, it wrote down its entire stock. At the same time, the Company indicated that it continues to strive to maximize the value of the assets it holds. The continued development of Countbot constitutes an important step towards value creation. If the collaboration results in orders, it could quickly contribute to Tonner Drones’ turnover and profitability. This could then also generate cash flow, since the starting price per Countbot is around 150,000 euros. Especially since Tonner Drones still has several Countbot in stock.

The annual turnover of the global warehouse market amounts to more than 500 billion euros. However, the sector faces some challenges, including a labor shortage and rising costs. Therefore, there is a strong trend to invest more and more in technologies capable of automating processes, improving quality and increasing the efficiency of logistics and warehouse management. Tonner Drones is witness to this since it sees interesting interest in the Countbot solution. This is a very promising signal, considering that Tonner Drones hasn’t even really started marketing the product in recent months. With the Countbot, Tonner Drones has an excellent solution to meet this type of market demand.

The company will further evaluate Countbot’s development and marketing strategy with its partners in the coming weeks.

“Since my involvement in leading Tonner Drones, I have always been enthusiastic about the Countbot solution.” said Diede van den Ouden, CEO. “Recent developments are increasingly exciting. We could not only improve the functionality of Countbot, but also create a virtuous collaboration that can generate revenue while opening new markets, which could be an opportunity for future growth.”
